Hey, I’m Lori and I am the founder of Gaia Mama Wellness. I transitioned into motherhood by leaning into my vulnerability and into the community of support available for new mothers.

Established in 2019, Gaia Mama Wellness aims to provide a safe, welcoming and accepting space for women at any point in their motherhood journey to receive quality care, guidance and support.

We value connection, community, growth, holistic health and wellness and self-development.

We want to hold space for you!

Motherhood is a wild ride. And let’s face it, sometimes you need a little extra support. Because we weren’t meant to do this alone. And you don’t have to struggle through it. We want you to thrive, not just survive.

As a pillar of support on your journey, we provide knowledge and information to help you find your own way. We encourage you to look within, trust yourself and grow into the mama bear your family needs you to be.

By caring for yourself with client-centered massage and bodywork sessions tailored individually to your body and mind, you CAN feel balanced and grounded as you leave the massage table. We look at you as a whole person, not just your body or your aches and pains.

By accessing physical, emotional, and informational support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum  you can feel empowered, informed and confident heading into birth and motherhood.

You want to relax, unwind and relieve pain, tension and discomfort.

You need some peace and quiet or some human interaction with another adult.

You want to take an hour out of your day to reconnect to yourself, and get in tune with your body and mind.

You want to be treated with kindness, respect and compassion during this especially vulnerable and possibly emotional life transition.

Whether you are looking for a Massage Therapist or Doula, you want a trustworthy and compassionate professional who is comfortable and knowledgable about working with pregnant and postpartum women.

My   Story

I’m Lori, mom to my beautiful 7 yr old son and 4 yr old daughter.

It was through my own personal struggles during pregnancy, birth and struggling to grow our family that I discovered the growing need of support for moms and women. Whether they were pregnant, trying desperately to get pregnant, postpartum or seasoned mamas.

I understand so many of the emotional highs and lows of motherhood because I dealt with a lot of them myself, during and after my own pregnancies. From physical pain to dealing with stress, anxiety and the mental health challenges that come with birth, miscarriage and birth trauma – I’ve been through it all.

I have also been blessed with many wonderful experiences. I have two healthy kids, a birth experience I learned a lot from (my first birth was somewhat traumatic for me) and I have also had really positive experiences including my second birth which was very healing and empowering.

It is a gift to have had two vastly different birth experiences, and I have had the opportunity to hear many women share with me their birth stories as I work with them.

Being able to lean on other mothers and health providers in my community as I transitioned into motherhood was so valuable and an integral part of my journey. Whether it’s a story they have about their journey, words of encouragement, or an empathetic look that lets you know you’re not alone. I recognize the value in feeling accepted, seen, and heard, and to have someone hold space for you in whatever you are experiencing.

Like me, many women experience a vulnerable and intense period of time as they transition into motherhood. I decided to make it my mission to support other moms. Since becoming a Massage Therapist in 2016,  I’ve worked with hundreds of families. I am always learning and looking for new ways to serve the families I work with.

I am obsessed with educating women on their rights during labour, encouraging them to connect to their intuition and their innate birthing wisdom to give birth from a place of confidence. I think the human body is fascinating and the changes the female body goes through to grow and birth a baby is incredible. I love sharing this passion with my clients and I continue to deepen my knowledge in this area more and more every year.
